*Blows cobwebs away from page*
Hello, we’re back!
We’ve recently discovered the Walthamstow Wetlands , And I’ve been doing some wildlife photography…and now realise my old Sigma 150-500 1:5-6.3 DG APO HSM lens, is, well, a bit not-so-good at the long end. Also, the autofocus is slow and not reliable.
But, it will have to do for now, as I don’t have a spare thousand quid for the nikon 200-500 f/5.6. Yet.
Anyway, the photos are here for your perusal. If you want.
Corrections, proper IDs very welcome.

A visit to the London Wetland Centre at Barnes with the Flickr group. Last year’s visit proved rather good (except, of course the foul thunderstorm in the afternoon!), so man-with-camera-extraordinaire Phill Price organised us to go again, ably joined by the Wetland centre Flickr group bods, who kept kindly answering the question ‘What’s one of those?’
And as you can see, we all got some rather nice piccies.
A recommended visit!
You try getting pictures of these little buggers – they run like the clappers.
P.S. I do not recommend laying face down with heavy camera in hand for 45 minutes waiting or him/her (Is there any way of telling short of getting hold of them and checking underneath carefully?) to return and then standing up suddenly.
Ow, Ow Ow!
I’m getting old 🙁
